Steps to do Peacock Pose

  1.  First of all spread the mat on the flat ground and sit on your knees
  2. Keep the ankles close to each other and keep a little distance between the knees
  3. Now bend forward and place the hands on the ground between the two knees.
  4. Keep the elbow and fingers of the hands towards you and keep the waist straight.
  5. Slowly move your arms so that your elbows come close to your stomach.
  6. During this, put your weight on your hands and start straightening your knees.
  7. First raise one leg above the ground. Then, try to keep your balance and lift the other leg as well.

To perform this particular hand position called mudra, you have to put all your weight on your hands and hold it for as long as you can. But if you're trying it for the first time, it's really important to enlist the help of a yoga teacher who knows what they're doing.

Precautions during Peacock Pose

  • Slowly raise the legs in the air to balance the body
  • Do not force any action, doing so may cause injury
